Whats the best drugstore brand shampoo and conditioner for dry broken hair that is damaged?

Here are home remedies I have used with my long hair which I dye, and they really help!

Eggs. To clean hair and give it a super shine, whip an egg into tepid water (not too hot or you'll be dealing with a poached egg), then lather it into your hair. Rinse it out with tepid water or that egg will poach right on top of your head. To deep-treat damaged hair, give it a healthy sheen, and cure dryness right down to the roots, use this pre-shampoo conditioning treatment: Mix together 3 eggs, 2 tablespoons olive oil or safflower oil, and 1 teaspoon vinegar. Apply it to your tresses, cover with a plastic cap, and leave it on for 30 minutes. Then shampoo as usual.Avocado and banana. Mash a little overripe banana and avocado together, spread in your hair, and leave it there for up to an hour. Then rinse with warm water.

Beer. After your shampoo, rinse your hair with a little beer. This can help restore shine.

Mayonnaise. You'll need the full-fat kind, not a diet or low-fat version. Slather 1 tablespoon or so onto your hair, rub it in down to your scalp, then cover with a plastic cap and wait about 30 minutes. Rinse it out thoroughly or you'll be craving tuna salad the rest of the day.

Oil. Rub a little oil into your scalp. Olive oil works well, as does coconut oil. After you rub it on, cover your hair with a cap and leave it on overnight, then shampoo and rinse the oil out in the morning.

I shampoo my hair with Dove Intense Damage Therapy Shampoo for Accumulated Damage, it works great. I switch off with Herbal Essences Hello Hydration Shampoo %26amp; Conditioner every other month. So that these will both continue working on my hair.

Some conditioners I think really work are PANTENE PRO V RESTORATIVES BREAKAGE DEFENSE CONDITIONER (shamppoo is awesome also) .

Twice a month I deep condition with Its a 10 Miracle hair Mask. It is a little expensive but soooo worth the cost. The best hair mask/ deep conditioner I have ever used.

To keep your hair in shape

Trims on a regular basis

Avoid chlorine and saltwater.

Drink lots of water

Avoid using any heated appliances whenever possible.

Don't use any harsh chemicals on your hair.

Be *extremely* careful of what kind of hair jewelry you use. Never use metal barrettes(the ';French'; style) and absolutely NEVER use rubberbands, they will tear your hair whenyou try to remove them. Avoid anything that has sharp or rough edges, such as plastic combswith rough seams or hair claws with metal hinges. Never put anything in your hair that attacheswith Velcro or springs. If you take anything out of your hair and a significant amount of hair comes out with it, don't ever put it back in your hair. Scrunchies are very hair-safe, and several can be used if your hair is very long.

Be very careful with what you choose to style your hair. When you do use a brush, use only natural boar bristle brushes.

Avoid crazy diets, make sure you get your vitamins tooo!!!

Be gentle with wet hair, this is when your really hurt your hair!

Rinse in cool water not hot!

If you have dry scalp you need moisturize shampoo - It looks like white dots

If you have Dandruff flakes which are yellow and you can see threw out the whole scalp you need CVS Generic Selum Blue with 1% you can look at the drug info at
okay i know this is going to sounds gross but mayo worked great. i tried it the other day and my hair isn't dry anymore. I love dove repair shampoo and conditioner.
Try a shampoo that is for color treated hair, that has worked well for me. It seems to be gentler and not strip out as many natural oils.
