Is it alright to wash my hair with a bar of soap instead of shampoo?

Bar soap coats hair with a kind of waxy residue. That's why it leaves a bathtub ring. Body wash, yes but it's still too strong to leave hair looking nice and feeling soft and tangle-free. Use regular shampoo. Is it alright to wash my hair with a bar of soap instead of shampoo?
Its not going to make your hair fall out or anything but it isnt the best thing to use. If you dont have any shampoo it is better to use alittle powdered laundry soap than it is bar soap.Is it alright to wash my hair with a bar of soap instead of shampoo?
That would not be appropriate. There is too many additives that can be harmful for healthy hair. I would stick to a professional shampoo to keep you hair looking good.
Not if you don't want you hair to dry out and snap. Soap is too harsh to use on hair, even just cheap, supermarket's own-brand shampoo is better than soap :)
